Social Impact at UC Berkeley Public Health develops programs, partnerships and supports to help students make change in health and justice. Led by Chief Social Impact Officer Claudia Williams, it connects students with Impact Fellows, policymakers, entrepreneurs and practitioners who collaborate on high-impact projects and mentor students.
Programs include Impact Innovators, which supports students to explore and establish innovative community-based projects; Social Impact Tuesdays skills sessions; policy summits, career panels, innovation competitions and retreats; The Other 80 podcast; and the Bay Area Community Health Fellows, which will place public health graduate students in paid summer practicums with local organizations starting in 2027.
