New Academic Ventures, Berkeley

New Academic Ventures, Berkeley (NAV-B), founded in 2017, is a team within the Division of Academic Planning that helps UC Berkeley's academic units, divisions and departments develop revenue-generating academic programs, whether in person, hybrid or online.

Its services cover consultation and ideation, market research, financial modeling, due diligence and risk assessment, contract negotiation and project management. NAV-B has a required role for self-supporting graduate professional degree programs, Continuing Education and specialized professional certificates, and new programs that partner with a third-party online program manager.
