Master of Translational Medicine
The Master of Translational Medicine (MTM) is an intensive one-year professional master's degree run jointly by UC Berkeley's Department of Bioengineering and UCSF's Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences. It is designed for engineers, scientists and clinicians, with tracks in medical devices and therapeutics.
Students study topics from regulation to clinical needs and how products move from concept through clinical trials to commercialization, and complete a year-long capstone in which they join real-world teams to take medical innovations from an idea to the clinic. The program reports that alumni have founded 27 companies and raised over $100M for their ventures.
