Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation

The Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation is UC Berkeley's interdisciplinary hub for learning and making at the intersection of design and technology, based in Jacobs Hall.

Through the Maker Pass, students get access to Jacobs Hall's fabrication facilities, machine trainings, expert mentorship and workshops. The institute offers Design Innovation courses, the Berkeley Certificate in Design Innovation, the Engineering Design Scholars program, the Innovation Catalyst Grant Program and the Master of Design (MDes), a professional graduate program in design for emerging technologies.
