Industry Alliances Office

The Industry Alliances Office (IAO) is one of the two divisions of UC Berkeley's Office of Intellectual Property and Industry Research Alliances (IPIRA). It works with Berkeley researchers and companies to build research relationships and negotiates all research contracts with private industry.

The IAO sets up agreements for industry-sponsored research by individual faculty, industry-sponsored institutes, industry affiliate programs, and innovation and entrepreneurship programs, and has signed contracts with more than 1,300 companies worldwide.
