College of Computing, Data Science, and Society

The College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS) explores solutions to society's greatest challenges through computing and data science. Approved by the UC Regents in May 2023, it was Berkeley's first new college in more than 50 years.

Its academic units include the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, the Department of Statistics, Data Science Undergraduate Studies, the Center for Computational Biology and Computational Precision Health. The college offers undergraduate and graduate education, student programs and opportunities, and the Berkeley Global Computing and Data Science Program, and co-leads initiatives such as the Center for Healthcare Marketplace Innovation with Berkeley Haas.
