CITRIS and the Banatao Institute

CITRIS and the Banatao Institute is a University of California research center focused on creating information technology solutions for society's most pressing challenges, drawing on the research strengths of UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Merced and UC Santa Cruz.

CITRIS Foundry, created in 2013, is the University of California's deep tech innovation hub. It provides access to design, manufacturing and business development tools and a community of entrepreneurs and experts, and its Innovation Incubator supports new ventures, social enterprises and tech transfer pathways for UC scientists, researchers and engineers. CITRIS also operates the Invention Lab, where students can get a Maker Pass to use 3D printers, and the Marvell NanoLab.
