Educational Programs and New Initiatives, College of Computing, Data Science, and Society

Educational Programs and New Initiatives leads college-wide planning for instruction at the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS). The assistant dean role was created in November 2023 to set a strategic vision for the college's instruction and to develop proposals for new degree programs, graduate certificates, designated emphases and continuing education opportunities.

The unit works with CDSS faculty and staff, consults with students and alumni, and advises the dean. CDSS has said it will explore professional master's degrees in computing and data science, including in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
