Cal NERDS

Cal NERDS (New Experiences for Research and Diversity in Science) runs a suite of diversity STEM programs and initiatives for UC Berkeley undergraduate and graduate students, actively recruiting students from non-dominant backgrounds, including first-generation, low-income, transfer and disabled students.

Its Student Rest & Study Center in Stephens Hall offers study and lounge space, Zoom rooms, a micro-pantry, a 3D printing lab and a research poster printing lab. Programs include Bergeron Scholars in STEM, Math Vault, NSF CAMP, NSF Bridge to the Doctorate, the UC LEADS research program and a visiting scholars summer research program, along with faculty-mentored research, tech training, graduate school preparation and career coaching.
