Commercialization
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) works with companies to advance technologies for commercialization or deployment. Its Intellectual Property Office licenses Lab-developed technologies, lists startup opportunities and a software marketplace, and works with companies at any stage that can commercialize early-stage technologies; its Strategic Partnerships Office connects outside collaborators with Lab researchers.
Innovators can access DOE national user facilities hosted at the Lab, including the Advanced Light Source, the Molecular Foundry, the Joint Genome Institute and NERSC. The Lab is also home to Cyclotron Road, an entrepreneurial fellowship whose current and past fellows' companies have raised more than $3 billion in follow-on funding.
