Berkeley Changemaker

Berkeley Changemaker is a campus-wide academic program whose mission is to empower students from all backgrounds and disciplines to lead with purpose, view challenges as opportunities and contribute to positive change. It offers more than 65 courses across 32+ departments and eleven schools and colleges, focused on critical thinking, communication and collaboration, with no application or prerequisites.

Students can earn a Berkeley Changemaker certificate of completion. Approved courses include entrepreneurship offerings such as SCET's Challenge Labs and the A. Richard Newton Lecture Series. The program is led by Laura Hassner, Executive Director of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and also runs an ambassador program and an Openness to Opposing Views course.
