Bakar Institute of Digital Materials for the Planet
The Bakar Institute of Digital Materials for the Planet (BIDMaP) works to speed the discovery, development and deployment of advanced materials for clean energy, clean air, clean water, advanced batteries and sustainable chemical production. It combines chemistry with artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics.
Its portfolio includes metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs), along with catalysis, electronic materials and new synthesis methods. Researchers use AI generative models and autonomous labs to design and test materials, from catalysts that turn carbon dioxide into fuels and plastics to materials that pull water from the air.
