SUMMARY:Frontier Forum: Proving Humanness in the Age of AI
DESCRIPTION:Artificial intelligence is rapidly advancing. As it does\, the
ability to prove humanness or differentiate between human- and AI-generate
d content online will be an essential and likely inevitable tool for empow
ering individuals in this new chapter of human history. While there are va
rious approaches to how a proof of personhood (PoP) might end up being imp
lemented\, it is crucial that such an important infrastructure prioritizes
privacy\, self-sovereignty\, inclusivity and decentralization in order to
benefit and protect individuals. In this talk\, Alex Blania and members o
f the founding team at Tools for Humanity\, a core contributor to the Worl
dcoin project\, will discuss the challenges the ambitious project is tryin
g to solve today via an open identity protocol called World ID. If success
ful\, the World ID protocol could enable new global democratic processes a
nd eventually show a potential path to AI-funded UBI. The team will also p
rovide an inside look at the Orb\, an advanced imaging device designed spe
cifically for the Worldcoin project to verify unique humanness at a global
scale. Bio: Alex Blania is the CEO and Co-Founder of Tools for Humanity\,
the technology company building tools to support the Worldcoin project. H
e is also a Co-Founder of the Worldcoin project itself\, alongside Open AI
CEO Sam Altman and Max Novendstern. Alex is responsible for leading strat
egy\, development and execution of the technology and tools enabling World
coin to ensure everyone benefits fairly from the opportunities AI presents
. Alex holds degrees in Industrial Engineering and Physics from the Univer
sity of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany and studied physics at Caltech befor
e dedicating his full time and attention to supporting Worldcoin. Reach ou
